I am not quite sure how I found this book, but I love that cover. A lot of people don't seem to like covers with someone or someones on them. But when it's done right. . . like this one, I love it! The typography is amazing as well. I love the play with more than one font keeping it all one simple color. Simple & beautiful covers are the best!

Aside from the gorgeous cover, the synopsis sounds amazing too. I love how it sounds like the focus may be more on friendship with a side of romance. I love romance as much as the next reader, but sometimes you just want to read about an awesome friendship!

I have read every other book by Elkeles and loved them!! The "How to Ruin" series is my favorite!

It has been far too long since she has released anything and I got curious; I was pleasantly surprised to see a new series from one of my favorite authors!! I cannot wait to get this one in my hands!! :-)

If it's not obvious yet, I'm a bit obsessed with Kpop, Kdramas, and anything Korean. Give me a contemporary book about a Korean girl... And I'm sold!  I love the bright cover and adorable font.
I just hope there's some Korean in the book. It'd be awesome if it were in Korean, but I'm sure it'll be more reader friendly and use romanization.
Unfortunately there aren't any reviews yet, so I can't even get a feel for the book based on those. But I'm excited!!

I read and enjoyed another book from Jennifer E. Smith last year called, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. Short and sweet, exactly what I like out of a contemporary book. This one, however, is 416 pages, hopefully it's still sweet though not short. I'm unsure whether I'll buy it, e-book or borrow from the library.

Though I've never heard of Alaya Dawn Johnson before this, she has written an impressive amount of books. And if I like this one, I'll be giving her others a try!
I love the idea of a futuristic/dystopian world set in another country, one that I've always wanted to visit. Brazil just seems like it would have the most vibrant culture and night life. And art and mystery and romance on top of that? I'm excited to read this one!!

I think it's pretty obvious what's going to happen. At least to me. And I'm okay with that. I need a book to just read I've been in such a slump that nothing sounds good. And the only things that do are books that aren't released yet and not available to me via arc or netgalley. Le sigh.

I had a hard time choosing between two books, so I decided on the one with two covers I love. The second cover [with the read mask] is the kindle edition cover. There is a 3rd cover listed, but I'm not a fan of it, personally. This book is a 2012 YA Debut, so add it to your list! :)

Why I'm excited:
Contemporary Fiction will always be my favorite genre, but I also like reading about history. So, it stands that I'd love historical fiction. I'd prefer it in more of a contemporary fashion, but I love paranormal as well. This one seems to be in more of a contemporary fashion, meaning no paranormal... but I wouldn't be surprised if it was paranormal with the way that summary is written.
There are a few YA Historical Fiction novels coming out this year that I'm quite excited for but I decided to spotlight this one!

Why I'm excited:

I loved Morgan Matson's debut novel Amy and Roger's Epic Detour, it was one of my favorite books of 2010. I've added it to my "To-Buy" list and will get it soon.

I will be pre-ordering Second Chance Summer in April, just so I can get it as soon as possible. I love contemporary books the most, and it's been awhile since I've been excited about the release of an upcoming contemporary novel.

Looking around for an upcoming book that I have been dying to read was hard. I've been out of the book loop for quite awhile and needed to visit publishing websites to find books coming out soon.
After visiting Poppy's website, I found this book and the title alone drew me in. The cover and the font definitely help. All of the reviews on Goodreads seem to be nothing but positive! I've added this to my list and cannot wait to read it when it comes out in January!

This sounds like a unique book that focuses on friendship, instead of romance. (Even though Grace seems a little infatuated). But it also sounds like it may have some darkness thrown in there as well.

Can't wait to pick this one up. Depending on the reviews, I may get this from the library instead of buying. (If I don't win it in a contest.)

Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have teamed up again for what sounds like a promising read. I absolutely adored their book Naomi & Eli's No Kiss List!
That summary....amazing. And I love books with more than one POV...preferably two--male & female.
It's obviously set in New York, and though it's not a place I really want to live, N&E made me want to at least visit---for quite awhile! :)
I would love to do that, leave a random notebook somewhere. :)

I think I may start leaving random inspirational messages in the most random of places. and maybe poems and quotes as well... in an attempt to boost someone's self-esteem and just spread love. May save a life. #SpeakLoudly!

I had heard about this book form another book blogger. There was a poll to choose the cover of this upcoming dystopian novel.
I don't know which of the cover options I voted for, but I think I liked this one....
I haven't read many dystopian novels and they always sound interesting. It looks like there are a lot coming out in 2011, and a good amount are debut novels. So I'm excited to start the challenge again, hosted by The Story Siren. I should get my list together.

I love the idea of dystopian novels, they're some of the most original and interesting story ideas.

I have read the first book in this series, Fallen, and really liked it. It's a book that I still think about, especially the good parts. There were a lot of people who did not like this book, but a lot who did. I guess it's just opinion. You can't take someone elses review to heart. You'll have to find out for your self. I am someone who thinks too much when it comes to reading, but I really enjoyed it. So just read it and judge for yourself.
I've been ready for this book since the second I finished Fallen. I can't wait to see where Luce and Daniel go and if the cycle has been broken. And I'd like to know more about that ending. Very...different.
P.S. I love the covers. Especially this one. I can't tell if that's like an undershirt or back tattoos. Anyways. I want her hair. lol.

Of course when you read reviews of Torment they'll be positive because they're from the people who liked Fallen.

There are a few books by Neal Shusterman that I have been wanting to read, including Unwind, Everlost, and Everwild. I was actually at Border's a few days ago and looked for Unwind but couldn't find it. (I ended up getting Two-way Street. But that'll be in a Mailbox post later on this week.) There are some reviews already on goodreads.com and they are mostly positive, but I'm beginning not to trust most of them. I usually disagree with them anyways. 
This book seems like the kind of "underdog" mystery thing that I'm getting into....darker books....life imitates art.

I'm not quite sure how I ended up on the HarperTeen website tonight, but I'm glad I did. This book may not sound all that intense, but some lucky ducks have already gotten ahold of it and wrote reviews on goodreads....and they have quite some opinions. Charles Benoit is a debut author even though this book isn't featured in the challenge. I've let Kristi at The Story Siren know about this book via twitter so if she gets that tweet she may add it to the list. I personally will be reading it as soon as it comes out! I cannot wait to get my hands on it. This may be one of those books I end up buying if I don't win it.
It's written in second person, and I've never read a book like that so it'll be a little strange. Hopefully I won't get confused with that. (A preview of that second person is in the summary.)
