Waiting on Wednesday (004)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted byBreaking the Spine. This isn't something that I will be doing every week unless there's a book I really want to let people know about. I try to have books that are coming out within the next couple months, like this one!

Bruiser by: Neal Shusterman
Release Date: June 29th, 2010
Summary: (from harpercollins/teen)
  Tennyson:
Don't get me started on the Bruiser. He was voted "Most Likely to Get the Death Penalty" by the entire school. He's the kid no one knows, no one talks to, and everyone hears disturbing rumors about. So why is my sister, Brontë, dating him? One of these days she's going to take in the wrong stray dog, and it's not going to end well.
   Brontë:
My brother has no right to talk about Brewster that way—no right to threaten him. There's a reason why Brewster can't have friends—why he can't care about too many people. Because when he cares about you, things start to happen. Impossible things that can't be explained. I know, because they're happening to me.
Award-winning author Neal Shusterman has crafted a chilling and unforgettable novel about the power of unconditional friendship, the complex gear workings of a family, and the sacrifices we endure for the people we love
.

There are a few books by Neal Shusterman that I have been wanting to read, including Unwind, Everlost, and Everwild. I was actually at Border's a few days ago and looked for Unwind but couldn't find it. (I ended up getting Two-way Street. But that'll be in a Mailbox post later on this week.) There are some reviews already on goodreads.com and they are mostly positive, but I'm beginning not to trust most of them. I usually disagree with them anyways.
This book seems like the kind of "underdog" mystery thing that I'm getting into....darker books....life imitates art.

  1. Sounds interesting.

    P.S.
If you're wanting more followers, I suggest doing the Teaser Tuesdays at http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/, and putting your link on her Mr. Linky thingy. I've gained six followers since yesterday from it.
