When sheltered American good girl Allyson "LuLu" Healey first meets laid-back Dutch actor Willem De Ruiter at an underground performance of Twelfth Night in England, there’s an undeniable spark. After just one day together, that spark bursts into a flame, or so it seems to Allyson, until the following morning, when she wakes up after a whirlwind day in Paris to discover that Willem has left. Over the next year, Allyson embarks on a journey to come to terms with the narrow confines of her life, and through Shakespeare, travel, and a quest for her almost-true-love, to break free of those confines.
My thoughts:
This was one of those books I was debating whether I'd buy or not, and now I wish I had.
I loved it.
I truly do not know how to review this book. I really have nothing to say other than I loved it.
I related wholly to Allyson and her state of mind involving friends and social situations.
I adored Willem and loved how realistic their connection was. It wasn't forced, but there wasn't much you're left to hope for. It's all there. Their emotion, connection...everything.
I cannot wait to read the second book, Just One Year which will be from Willem's perspective. You get a few clues as to what the story will involve, but it's an entire year. I just hope that you get at LEAST a day past the end of Just One Day.
Sorry for this short review. I don't know how to review a book I loved so much!! Just, read it.
I will say there were a few misspelled words, like being instead of been, but I honestly don't care!
[*Note: I will be going back to my old review format with my next review. I feel like it has more information for the readers! And making a new signature. I hate that one. lol. ^_^"]
